  • Rip off your sleeves and I'll ditch my socks

I could not have designed a more perfect weekend than Sasquatch.  Seriously.  In what other span of three days can you see Day 1) DeVotchka, Animal Collective, The Decemberists, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Crystal Castles; Day 2) St. Vincent, M83, of Montreal; Day 3) Black Moth Super Rainbow, Grizzly Bear, Santigold, Blitzen Trapper, Fleet Foxes, Girl Talk, Tobacco, Ben Harper and Relentless7.

The type of people that go to an event like that are pretty much half lame and half amazing and the amazing people totally overshadow all the lame ones.  Ms. Mickey Mouse Ears, Le Sac Dress Girl, Canadian Chick, The Drink Mixers, Footy Pajamas Dude, Mr. Lime Green Bodysuit.  Not to mention watching someone get tackled by security in front of me during BMSR, guy with extreme heatstroke or ODing or something during Girl Talk, and the people having sex during The Decemberists.

Most Surprisingly Great Live Acts:  Tobacco, The Decemberists, M83
Most Unsurprisingly Great Live Acts:  Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Crystal Castles, Girl Talk
Most Improved at a Large Venue:  Santigold
Most Underwhelming at a Large Venue:  of Montreal
Most Hilarious (but largely unenjoyable) Band:  Monotonix

And OMIGOD I just accidentally hovered over my Last.fm profile link and noticed I'm freaking 20, how is that possible that I'm not a teenager anymore!?  I need to hurry up and grow up!

Anyways, greatest weekend ever.  If you get a chance to see any of those bands I mentioned, DO IT.  Especially Tobacco, he will melt your face off in all his hilarious, fun, dirty, Charlie-Brown-dance-party glory.  I love him and BMSR even more than I thought I did.
